Opening Width for Windlocked doors:
The door should be at least 180mm wider than the opening if securing the guides to timber or masonry or 100mm wider than the opening if fixed to steel. That is, the door should overlap each side by 90mm or 50mm, depending on the structure.
Doors are ordered as curtain width, so please ensure you have added enough overlap with windlock doors.
Side room for Windlocked doors:
A minimum of 226mm side room on chain wheel end and 175mm for tail end is required for steel fixing and 262mm and 210mm respective for fixing to masonry.Â
Â
Installation
Install doors behind opening, attached to brickwork or steelwork as required. Leave sufficient return on both sides to accommodate support brackets and guides with the necessary working clearances.Â
Posts and piers should continue past the lintel height to provide fixing for the support brackets. Series B doors are supported on brackets above the opening on each end and require sufficient headroom for door to roll up. Values in the tables indicate the minimum space required. If there is insufficient headroom at the site, the bottom of the curtain roll may infringe the opening.Â
Top mounting face of the wall bracket should be set to table dimensions. If more than 40mm above track top, bend sharp track top away at wall side to avoid possible damage to the nylon braiding.
